Besser wieder aus ; Firmena\u0308nderung: 15.8.1865 ; Mit dem Weggang von Perthes nach Gotha im Ma\u0308rz 1822 und der Gru\u0308ndung eines eigenen Verlags dort fiel Besser die alleinige Verantwortung fu\u0308r die Buchhandlung Perthes & Besser zu, auch wenn Perthes (stiller) Teilhaber blieb. Eine wichtige Stu\u0308tze erwuchs Besser in seinem Gehilfen Johann Wilhelm Mauke, der 1823 Bessers Tochter Auguste Wilhelmine heiratete und als Teilhaber aufgenommen wurde. Bessers u\u0308berraschender Tod (Ende 1826) traf seinen Freund Perthes hart, dank dessen und Maukes Engagement konnte die Buchhandlung aber ohne Einbu\u00dfen weitergefu\u0308hrt werden. Die zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch unmu\u0308ndigen So\u0308hne Wilhelm (1808-1848) und Rudolf Besser (1811-1883) traten 1836 als Teilhaber ein. Perthes zog sich endgu\u0308ltig zuru\u0308ck; das Gescha\u0308ft firmierte nun als \u201ePerthes, Besser und Mauke\u201c und existiert noch heute - allerdings nicht mehr eigensta\u0308ndig, sondern als Tochter der Gruppe Schweitzer Fachinformationen - als \u201eW.
