Zwei Jahre spa\u0308ter u\u0308bernahm er den gro\u0308\u00dften Teil der geografischen Werke und des Kunstverlages von seinem Vater Georg Reimer und gru\u0308ndete den Dietrich Reimer Verlag. 1851 u\u0308bernahm er auch das geographische und topographische Institut von A. von Meyer in Berlin. 1852 konnte er den fa\u0308higen Kartographen Heinrich Kiepert fu\u0308r seinen Verlag gewinnen. 1868 machte Reimer den Buchha\u0308ndler Hermann August Hoefer (* 1835) zum Teilhaber seiner Firma.",
